Answers before you even ask

The questions physicians ask most before partnering with Pearl, answered straight.

General

Pearl develops and operates Office Based Labs, Ambulatory Surgery Centers, and hybrid centers that combine both models, always built around cardiovascular care.

We partner with cardiologists, vascular surgeons, and interventional radiologists. That focus is deliberate: our teams know these procedures, their codes, and their payors.

It depends on the procedures you plan to perform, what your state regulations allow, and how many physicians and specialties are involved. Some centers even combine both models. This is one of the first questions we answer together during the proforma.

Choosing a model

An OBL is an office based facility where you perform procedures under your own practice, usually opening in 2 to 5 months. An ASC is a licensed and Medicare certified surgical facility, which takes 12 to 24 months and requires new payor contracts with every commercial plan.

It comes down to the procedures you plan to perform, your state regulations, and how many physicians are involved. Some groups end up combining both models in a single facility.

With a 30 minute introductory call. We learn about your specialty, your market, and your goals, and from there we decide together whether a detailed proforma makes sense.

Development

Yes. Pearl invests its own capital in every center it develops, which lowers your financial risk and keeps our incentives aligned with yours.

An OBL typically opens in 2 to 5 months. An ASC usually takes 12 to 24 months because it requires state licensure and Medicare certification.

Every center is different. We would rather learn about your practice first and build a budget that is specific to your needs than quote a generic number.

Operations & Partnership

Very. Opening day is the start of the partnership, not the end. Pearl manages daily operations, staffing, billing, and financial performance for as long as the center runs.

Opening and managing a center takes significant capital and far more work than running a clinic. Our model rests on one idea: you lead the clinical side, we bring everything else, and the odds of success go up for both of us.

For an OBL you can usually add a site of service to your existing contracts, although rates may need serious negotiation to make the center viable. An ASC requires new contracts with every commercial payor. Pearl manages both paths with you.
